Expect to be busy as you entertain
your child(ren) on a plane journey.
They will find all the new
sounds and sensations interesting, all the new people fascinating -
for about 10 minutes!
After that, it's over to you!
|
The main form of entertainment suitable for babies and toddlers on a
long haul flight is YOU!

|
Make your preparations well in advance and follow the
tips below.
 |
prepare
to be self sufficient - don't expect airline kid's packs to contain
enough entertainment for a busy toddler on a long haul flight
 |
get
older children to carry their own special back pack with basic
entertainment contents - stickers, colouring book, reading books,
cassette tapes, dolls or cars etc
 |
take
some old favourites and some new surprises
 |
hide
away a couple of favourite toys a week or two before the trip - 're-find'
them on the plane!
 |
wrap
old and new toys as parcels to add to their entertainment value
 |
take
a small photo album with pictures of the relatives and friends you
plan to visit. That way your toddler will be familiar with their
faces and names before you arrive.
 |
think
about resources for the return trip as well as the outward one
 |
don't
pack noisy toys or games - you want your neighbours to love your
kids
 |
do
pack a favourite cuddly in an easily accessible place
 |
put
a balloon in your pocket for inflation in transit lounges - pop it
before you reboard
 |
don't
expect to have a break until you land - you are the entertainment...
